Hello and congratulations on taking the first step towards membership in the Psi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi! We are a national honorary service fraternity dedicated to college and university bands and the greater Los Angeles community. We host recruitment events throughout the Fall quarter where you can meet the brothers and learn more about our purposes, all members of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band are welcome! Application and interview slots to join our fraternity are currently open and close early January.

Candidate Process

Interviews

All members of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band  are invited to apply and sign up for an interview with the active brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi. The application is currently open, and interviews will take place early Winter Quarter 2023. We invite you to come find out if you're a fit for our organization and become better acquainted with our mission. 

You are also welcome to schedule an interview with our sister organization, the Epsilon Kappa chapter of Tau Beta Sigma.

Bids

Following the interview, we will extend bids to prospective candidates demonstrating the highest ideals of service, leadership, and music. Accepting this bid to join our fraternity is the first step towards becoming a lifelong brother. 

If extended bids to both the Psi and Epsilon Kappa chapters, you may only accept one. If you do not receive a bid at this time, we thank you for your time and welcome you to interview again next year.

Candidacy

After accepting your bid, you'll enter a quarter long candidacy period. You'll undergo interviews with active and alumni brothers and an educational program to become acquainted with our purposes, history, and events. Following this candidacy period you will become an active brother in Kappa Kappa Psi. We have a zero tolerance policy for hazing.

Any and all members of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band are invited and welcome to attend and learn about Kappa Kappa Psi's and Tau Beta Sigma's purposes and recruitment processes, meet bandsmembers, and ask questions. This is a night of information, bonding, and activities!

Joint Game Night:

All members of the band are invited to join us for a fun night of video games, board games, and great conversations other bandsmembers! They will not only get to meet current active members from both organizations, but also put their gaming skills to the test over some snacks.

 Joint Speed Dating:

Outside Pauley Pavilion 

Interested band members can join us in this speed dating event to meet one-on-one with active brothers and sisters. They will learn more about us and our chapters, hear personal stories and experiences, and most importantly - we will get to know them!

Cards and Coffee:

For bandsmembers interested in getting involved with a fun and fulfilling service activity, they can tap into their creativity and join us for a card-making session where these cards will be donated to local organizations that are in need of a little love and support. All attendees will be provided with coffee and some tasty pastries.

P(s)izza Night:
​Thursday, Nov. 17th 2022

​Attendees interested in service, music and leadership can join us for P(s)izza night! Pizza will be provided for a night filled with food and fun! We hang out, talk about Kappa Kappa Psi over a slideshow presentation, and meet new faces in our band program.
