Get to Know a Line!

Welcome to the Lion/FeLion(/the name is a work in progress) Line! We almost doubled in size this year, and it has been such a joy to be able to pull off our ~signature~ pose over and over again. 

The members of the Lion/FeLion Line! From the top down: Jade McVay, Sara Acosta, Gus Billing, Kylie Williams, Matthew Van De Mheen.

Starting at the top of our line, we have Jade McVay, a member of the Beta Upsilon class. Jade twirls for the band and is a fourth year BioEngineering major, BioInformatics minor. She loves kazoos and fanny packs more than anything. 

Jade’s little is Sara Acosta, a shining star in the Beta Phi class. Sara is a third year Chemical Engineering major who loves Africa by Toto and talked like a pirate on Facebook many years ago. She kills it on the alto sax. Sara has two littles: a second year Aerospace Engineering major in the Beta Chi class, Gus Billing, and a first year BioChemistry major in the Beta Psi class, Kylie Williams.

If you see a tall mellophone boi who has a wild life story that includes living in Spain(!!), you’ve found Gus. Ask him how he manages to balance college and drum corps and everything else going on (he’s incredible). 

If you need a tenor sax lady who will laugh at EVERY joke you tell and express constant enthusiasm about band and life and family, Kylie is your girl. She will brighten your day with any interaction you have with her, and that’s a promise.

Matthew, the last member (so far!) of this line, once again posing with a saxophone (so many saxes!).

Finally, we have Gus’s little, Matthew Van De Mheen, a first year Electrical Engineer in the Beta Psi class who plays alto sax. He has the best hats in the business; watch out Louise Green Millinery Co (a 5 star hat business). Matthew brings such a spunk to this line, with his quick wit and willingness to go along with any and all of the shenanigans the line brings to the table.

Watch out world, because the Lion/FeLion(the name is a work in progress) Line is coming for you!
