This fall quarter, the Psi chapter participated in Kappa Kappa Psi’s “Month of Musicianship.” During November, chapters across the nation acknowledged the importance of music within their organization, and demonstrated their appreciation in many unique ways. The Psi Chapter celebrated the month through in-meeting performances (a.k.a. in-meeting ‘RePSItals’) at every meeting.
The first performance was a cover of Jet’s “Move On,” performed by Amanda Albini and John Lassetter. It was a special start to the month, since we had our Chapter Field Representative, Justin Chesak, in the audience for the performance. Later that month, Jade McVay, Sophia Inaba, and Noah Ashman performed a cover of “Happier,” by Ed Sheeran. Each in-meeting rePSItal showed the outstanding musicianship and passion in our chapter.
Sophia Inaba, our Chapter’s Music Chair, also introduced a new activity during November called “Music Minutes,” where brothers held discussions about powerfully honest questions regarding their personal walk with music. There was a new question each week, allowing members to simultaneously demonstrate vulnerability and empathy with one another, strengthening the chapter’s brotherhood.
