IAAA Award Winner: Amanda Albini

The Psi Chapter’s very own Vice President of Membership Amanda Albini (ΒΤ, Class of 2018) has received the Kappa Kappa Psi Western District’s Ideal Active Achievement Award, or IAAA, for the Fall 2017 award cycle.

In a post to the District’s Facebook group, Western District Member-at-Large Lyssa Fukuhara recognized Amanda for “strong leadership skills and music participation, a deep respect for service, and desire to reach out to other chapters and to improve her own.” Amanda, a percussionist and an ethnomusicology major with a minor in statistics, performs regularly with several UCLA ensembles in addition to the marching band. Before her election as VPM, she served as Psi’s Director of Brotherhood/Sisterhood Relations during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Amanda described receiving the IAAA as an unexpected honor. “I was shook,” she said.

Psi President Christina Martin (ΒΣ, Class of ’18) and Sergeant-at-Arms Chris O’Connor (ΒΣ, Class of ’18) also were nominated for the award, as were seven other Brothers from across the District. Prior to Amanda, previous Psi members to receive the IAAA include Cameron Lundy (ΒΞ, Class of ’14) and Jason Scapa (ΒΛ, Class of ’11).

The Brothers of the Psi Chapter congratulate Amanda on the honor she has received. We thank her for all that she has brought to our Chapter through her respect for service, integrity, fraternity, and music.
