California State Days was hosted by the Tau Beta Sigma- Zeta Xi Chapter at San Diego State University! Since I had a big midterm the following Monday, ampoule
I had to study for most of this trip, grip
so some of the following events are being told from my perspective outside the activity. This district event occurred Jan 31- Feb 2.
After much confusion with directions (who doesn’t know street names in their surrounding area?!?), we made it to the music building, which may be even more confusing! Nevertheless, it was so fun doing a bunch of icebreakers and small introduction activities with the brothers and sisters there! Attending were brothers from UCLA, Fresno State University, and Fullerton College, and sisters from UCLA, San Diego State, and Fresno State. A few other California chapters were unable to make it.
The next day (Saturday), we had service projects to clean up the music building classrooms, where we were joined by some more people, including brothers and sisters from Northern Arizona University, which was a pleasant surprise! After we finished the service project we went to a restaurant that won Man vs Food, and then had free time because the host chapter was playing at a SDSU basketball game. Later that night, we had more games, including team-building exercises and competitions, which were so fun! I took a break from studying to participate because it was so entertaining to watch that I couldn’t resist.
Sunday morning, multiple UCLA cars left early to make sure we made it to the UCLA women’s basketball game gig (band comes first, of course!), and so we had to say good-bye to all our district friends the night before. Overall, it was a very fun district event, and I am glad I went, even with the human physiology midterm the next morning! I hope Psi and EK remain active in district events in the future!
