Biography

Hi, I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to sunny San Diego (well, actually Poway) when I was 8. I started playing trumpet in the 5th grade, only because my mom wouldn’t let me play trombone (yes, I wanted to play trombone… those were sad times). After living in San Francisco for 18 months, I came back to Poway and attended Poway High School (go Titans!). My marching career started with an argument with my directors over the trumpet mouthpiece I chose to use. They won. Then I was section leader for two years and took APs, and played varsity lacrosse, and went through high school. Then I came to college. UCLA is so much better than high school. And I marched in the UCLA Bruin Marching Band, and we beat ’$C, and we were happy, and I was invited to something called… KKPsi. It was AWESOME! Oh, and by the way, this one time at band camp, my best friend from high school decided to tell all the UCLA tubas about an interesting story about the two of us. This was the start of the “That’s what Kent said” jokes. They have yet to end….....
