Biography
-“Taking the world by storm, one smile at a time.”
UCLA truly is the greatest place ever and my second home. So much has happened here that has shaped me into the person I am now. I have experienced so many new things and met so many awesome people. However I am still looking forward to so much more. I am now in my fourth year here and I can’t believe I’m already finishing up my degree. Where I come from, Bakersfield, I was not exposed to many things and not much really happened. It definitely has been the biggest change and best thing to get out here to southern California and live life here at UCLA.
I’m busy with so much: UCLA Marching and Varsity Band, Kappa Kappa Psi (National Honorary Band Fraternity), Campus Tours tour guide and coordinator, training to be a summer Orientation Counselor and a Bruin Ambassador, and on top of all that, looking to go into student affairs with UCLA then off to graduate school with a new direction in addition to lots of classes. I want to go into student affairs and then teaching at the high school level after I graduate (AP Bio!!).
You truly need to find your passion in college and I definitely am happy on finally finding it. I did a lot of maturing and growing over the past year and had to rethink a lot of the future but I think I’ve found myself. The best job in the world isn’t what pays you the most, it was brings you the most happiness. It’s what works for me and something I know I’ll be good at. It’s also a really great thing when you know those you love back you up the most. It’s been awesome. Life is not about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself. (cheezy enough for you?)
To my closest friends, thanks for everything. There is still a lot left to do in this world and thank you guys for being there along side me every step of the way. Hold tight to your dreams. A good friend told me once, ‘never lower your goals to satisfy anyone elses standards’, and that way life will take you where you are destined to be, without any regrets. Life is too precious to be dictated by stress and worries. Don’t rush things. You finish when you do. Take the time to enjoy what you’ve got and reach for the stars. Live life to the fullest.
